- Sarakan Toothpaste is a specially formulated toothpaste containing naturally derived botanical ingredients to help maximise teeth cleaning.
What are the ingredients in Sarakan Toothpaste?
- Glycerine – 42.4%
- Calcium carbonate – 24.7%
- Water – 17.5%
- Magnesium carbonate – 10%
- Hydroxyethylcellulose – 0.65%
- Sodium phosphate monobasic – 0.5%
- Mentha piperita oil – 0.49%
- Eugenia caryophyllus (clove) bud oil – 0.25%
- Pelargonium graveolens oil – 0.25%
- Salvadora persica bark extract – 0.25%
Does Sarakan Toothpaste contain any allergens?
Yes, it contains the following cosmetic allergens:
- Eugenol (a natural component of clove oil)
- Limonene
- Citronellol
- Geraniol
- Linalool
How often should I use Sarakan Toothpaste?
- Brush gently at least twice a day with Sarakan Toothpaste, paying particular attention to the gumline.
Is Sarakan Toothpaste suitable for vegetarians and vegans?
- Yes. None of the ingredients are derived from animal products.
Is Sarakan Toothpaste suitable for children?
- Sarakan Toothpaste is suitable for children over the age of 3 years when used under supervision.
Is Sarakan Toothpaste suitable for use during pregnancy and breastfeeding?
- Unfortunately, due to the presence of essential oils, Sarakan Toothpaste is not suitable for use during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
What happens if I accidentally swallow some Sarakan Toothpaste?

Is Sarakan Toothpaste tested on animals?
- Sarakan Toothpaste follows the standard Lanes Health policy regarding animal testing.
Can the packaging be recycled?
- Lanes is committed to producing environmentally responsible products where possible. The carton can be widely recycled (subject to local recycling guidance). Unfortunately, the tube cannot be recycled at this time.
Is Sarakan Toothpaste acidic?
- No, it is mildly alkaline with a pH between 8–10.
Is the glycerine animal-derived?
- No, the glycerine is derived from rapeseed oil. Sarakan Toothpaste does not contain any ingredients derived from animal products and is suitable for vegetarians and vegans.
What is Sarakan Mouthwash?
- Sarakan Mouthwash is a specially formulated mouth rinse containing naturally derived botanical ingredients to help promote gum health, combat plaque, and freshen breath.
What are the ingredients in Sarakan Mouthwash?
- Water – 79.1%
- Glycerine – 20%
- Polysorbate 20 – 0.3%
- Distilled witch hazel – 0.33%
- Cetpyridium chloride – 0.05%
- Peppermint oil – 0.04%

Why has it changed colour?
- Sarakan Mouthwash contains a naturally derived pigment (sodium copper chlorophyllin) which is sensitive to light and may discolour when exposed. We recommend storing it out of direct light. This colour change does not affect the product’s safety, quality, or effectiveness.
Can the packaging be recycled?
- Lanes is committed to environmentally responsible products where possible. The bottle, cap, and label can be widely recycled (subject to local recycling guidance).
Is Sarakan Mouthwash acidic?
- Yes. It has a pH between 2.6 and 5.3 due to some of the ingredients being mildly acidic.

- No, the glycerine is derived from rapeseed oil. Sarakan Mouthwash does not contain any animal-derived ingredients and is suitable for vegetarians and vegans.
Does Sarakan Mouthwash contain alcohol?
- Yes, the distilled witch hazel used in the formula contains 14% alcohol.
